PICKLING OF STAINLESS STEEL AND SPECIAL MATERIALS

At Raff + Grund the stainless steel constructions are properly pickled and passivated. Machining and thermal processing as well as ferritic contaminations make stainless steel susceptible to corrosion. The pickling reliably removes these areas and therefore increases the durability and corrosion protection considerably. The passivating is carried out after the pickling and removal of the pickling residues, automatically in the air. The component then has the full corrosion resistance of the material and has the typical appearance of stainless steel. On the other hand, the components can also be additionally treated with special passivating in nitric acid. In this case the passive layer of the stainless steel in increased still further. This method can also be used for polished surfaces or materials that cannot be pickled.

Our modern pickling shop fulfils all legal and environmental requirements. We have a certified quality management system to EN ISO 9001:2008 and an environmental management system to EN ISO 14001:2004. Our neutralisation plant is continuously monitored by neutral institutes.
